Located in Dupont Circle, nestled in the Golden Triangle and equal distance between Dupont Circle and McPhearson Square metros is WE MAKE DC. Previously a "Rent the Runway", the space has transformed into a 7,000 SQFT retail, gallery, and activation space. With a focus on the local D.C. art and creative scene, WE MAKE DC is a space where you don't just shop - you experience the people, stories, and creativity that make this city what it is. Discover the best products made by DC-based curators, alongside immersive experiences that celebrate the District's rich history, culture, and communities all told through the lens of the people who live and shape it. WE MAKE DC offers a new kind of DC destination where you can dive into the city's past and present through reading rotating stories from DC's 250-year history. In partnership with Zesty Mic (@dczestystory), we have brought to life stories from nearly 100 D.C. residents through videos you can watch in our space. What used to be dressing rooms, have turned into murals designed by artists right here in D.C. The murals are representative of the eight wards of DC, including the iconic symbols, buildings, and neighborhoods that make each ward have it's own special vibe. Our WE Gallery is the narrative and community dimension of WE MAKE DC - an exhibition anchored in five cross-cutting chapters that hold both the memory and present-day life of this city. WE MAKE DC supports nearly 200 local D.C. makers and artists, whose products,(including prints, magnets, cards, postcards, apparel, snacks, body care, and more) are available to shop to help support our local economy here in the city.

The biggest feature of WE MAKE DC is our classroom and activation space, where people can take classes taught by local makers, which include tarot reading, candle making, water-coloring, jewelry making, cookie decorating, and more! Our space has two large crafting tables that holds up to 28 participants for hands-on classes, but the entire activation space for large events can hold up to 250 for sitting room and up to 300 standing room. We also have our Make it Bar where participants can make their own D.C. souvenir! People can design their own embroidered tote bag or put patches onto hats, pouches, and tote bags. We've previously hosted large group events such as our Open Mic night, a Craft Rave, Gallery Openings/Receptions, and community events, so our space is great for community or corporate gatherings. WE MAKE DC is a great place to learn more about WHO makes our city so amazing and how D.C. has always been a place for creatives.
